Endre Hay is a 59 year old who lives in Hobart, TAS, and has been a Telstra shareholder since the T2 float.

If I were Telstra’s CEO I would...Take a pay cut to under $1 million, which is still more than the Prime Minister gets. I'd also weed out uselessness - over paid executives and unnecessary staff. Finally, I'd look after investors with a special discount card, and set up a loyalty club card for consumers to give them a good deal and so that more of them will want to join the club.

If you asked me what I did, I'd say...Retired|international artist, who painted the self-portrait in the picture above

I bought most of my Telstra shares in...T2

I bought Telstra shares because...T1 was doing well and various advisers said it was a good investment. But was this wrong and T2 investors bought their shares at an inflated price compared to T1 and T3 pricing.

My first successful investment was...Coles Myer shares. We have used the Coles Myer card that came with them quite a lot, to get discount on anything across the whole chain. Unfortunately that's all gone now. But I've still got the shares, and I'm holding on to them. They are worth about double what I paid for them.

The best investment I ever made was...Coles Myer.

What I learned from my worst investment decision...Don't trust anyone's opinion, check it yourself.

The best investment advice I’ve ever been given...Buy property, you can never lose.
