Allan Cox is a 55 year old who lives in Melbourne, VIC, and has been a Telstra shareholder since the first float.

If I were Telstra’s CEO I would...Split the business into 2 separate independent companies:

Telstra Country would have to carry the community service obligation to rural Australia. It would be able to charge real costs for this community service obligation.

Telstra City would be able to compete more fairly with the parasite Telcos who only service the cities.

If the regulator did not allow Telstra Country to recover its costs, Telstra Country would go under and then the government would have to pick up the pieces for their's and the regulator's dishonesty.

If you asked me what I did, I'd say...Investor

I bought most of my Telstra shares in...T1

I bought Telstra shares because...Seemed like a good idea at the time.

My first successful investment was...CBA

The best investment I ever made was...CSL

What I learned from my worst investment decision...Check that the investment decision previously made is still valid.

The best investment advice I’ve ever been given...Fear is the destroyer of opportunity.

How I use telecommunications now...Fixed line only.

How I see the future of telecommunications in Australia...Shambles.
