Taking part in an panel discussion at the 'Get Ready for the Gigabit Age - CommsDay Summit 2008', Telstra's Regulatory Affairs chief, Dr Tony Warren, outlined some of those applications and the opportunities they are offering to grow the telecommunications market.

Dr Warren argued that Next generation networks are pro-competitive because they encourage the development of competing services at the level of the user application.
