Australian fans of the newly launched Spore PC game can now use their mobile phone to challenge gamers around the world.

“We’re dedicated to bringing the very best in mobile entertainment to fans Australia-wide and we are proud to be a part of such an innovative and unique opportunity with Spore Origins and EA Games,” Mr Milne said.

“BigPond is dedicated to using our technology and networks in innovative ways to provide the best entertainment to our customers, and this exclusive deal again demonstrates why we are the premier choice when it comes to providing the best games and live entertainment across mobiles and PCs."

Spore Origins is played over 18 stages, with players fighting for survival as multi-cellular organisms; surviving by attacking and eating competitors and avoiding being eaten themselves.

Each Spore Origins creature is custom built by the player and is subjected to evolution with opportunities to add or remove features and abilities such as bigger fangs, speed and spikes are earned while advancing through the 18 levels.

Head of Sales and Marketing for EA Mobile, Mark Fordham said,

“We’re excited to partner with BigPond to bring the connected version of Spore Origins to Australia. Partnering with Australia’s biggest mobile network means fans can get Spore on their mobile nearly anywhere in the country. We’re looking forward to seeing a strong Aussie presence in Spore Origins!”

“Interacting with players from across the world on a PC game may not be a new thing, but to be able to do this on a mobile game is rare and very exciting. We’re looking forward to seeing a strong Aussie presence in Spore Origins.”

Spore Origins can be purchased from the BigPond portal on Telstra mobiles for $7.00. BigPond is the exclusive Australian online retailer of Spore Origins Connected Version.
