In a wide-ranging interview on CNBC Asia, Telstra's Public Policy & Communications GMD, Dr Phil Burgess said Telstra was having positive discussions with the new Government and was pleased that the Rudd Government was as focused as Telstra on delivering high-speed broadband to Australia.

Dr Burgess says there are many roads to Rome,

"This Government knows it wants to get to Rome, which means to broadband the entire nation and to see broadband infused in every sector... and we want to help them get there."
