Telstra's Kata Farrell interviews three-time Olympic Gold medallist, Jodie Henry at the stratosphere launch in Sydney

In an Australian first, Telstra has delivered interactive, inflatable, projection domes in both Sydney and Melbourne for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

From 6pm each evening, the external surface of the 15 metre diameter Stratosphere at Custom’s House Square in Sydney, and the 10 metre diameter Stratosphere at Crown Casino Promenade in Melbourne, has projected Olympic Games content and celebrated Australian medal successes with an animated medal tally and fireworks display.

Watch the launch of
Telstra's Stratosphere in Sydney:

Running time: 4min. 07 sec.

The inside of the stratosphere is a one stop shop for keeping up to date with all the action happening in Beijing.

Visit the stratosphere to:

  • Send a Telstra HeroMessage® to the Aussie team;
  • Play the official game, 'Beijing 2008 Olympic Games', at various games stations;
  • Have a commemorative Olympic Games photo taken and printed for free;
  • Receive a bonus gift of a Telstra / Olympic Games branded portable mobile charger when subscribing to the Olympic Games Pack in the Stratosphere; and
  • Enjoy a complimentary tea service.

The stratosphere is open 12pm to 8pm, from Saturday 9 August to Sunday 24 August.

So much fun it is out of this world

Telstra staff member Carla Negrin and her family had so much fun at the Telstra Stratosphere it was out of this world.

Telstra staff member Carla Negrin and her family “We were walking down at Southbank on Saturday and my boys spotted the Stratosphere and insist on going in. Who could argue with a 6 and 7 year old? Especially when they noticed that it was showing stuff about where Mummy works! The boys sent a message to Grant Hackett, played with the Next G™ phones and the Olympics themed games. We enjoyed the experience and it was just a fantastic way to showcase Telstra and our direction. Well done!”
