Kate McKenzie talks about Telstra's FTTN proposal

Telstra took a decisive step towards building a National Broadband Network (NBN) by paying the Federal Government a $5 million dollar bond and handing over details about our network information.

Telstra is getting on with preparing our submission which is due on 25 July 2008.

The facts are that while some competitors are playing politics, Telstra is totally committed to getting on with the job and our bid team are working on the details of our proposal. Telstra continues to comply with condition 11.1 of the Government’s Request For Proposal which calls on bidders not to publicly comment on the RFP process itself.

Australia’s future prosperity literally depends on upgrading our networks for the high-speed broadband Gigabyte age.  So while a lot of opinions are being expressed on the RFP, Telstra will stay focussed on the real work involved.
