Chairman tells it like it is on NBN

Running time: 4min. 54sec.

Telstra’s Chairman Donald McGauchie told it straight on NBN during an interview with Sky Business on the weekend. Mr McGauchie dismissed the idea that Australia would be better served if Telstra was broken up, saying:

“There is no living example anywhere in the world of structurally separated systems that work.”

Using the coal industry in Australia and SingTel’s own opposition to structural separation in Singapore as examples, Mr McGauchie explains how structural separation would be terribly damaging to Australia’s interest as a nation, Telstra’s interests as a company and its shareholders.
