From blackspot to almost full coverage

In January this year my husband & I moved to 10 acres in Macedon, Victoria. We call it Nirvana as it's paradise to us.

However, there was one big inconvenient problem. We live approx 5 minutes from 2 towers, yet as we live in a state forest, we're in a blackspot. We could not make or receive mobile phone calls and do not have access to broadband.

It is amazing how easily one takes things for granted, in this case it was a simple mobile phone call. My mobile contract was up this July with another mobile carrier so I decided to go back to Telstra. I bought the latest Nokia which accesses the 3G network and converted my home phone over as well.

You could not imagine my joy as I now have almost full coverage on my mobile at all times and can make and receive phone calls from my lounge rather than having to climb a fence to get mediocre service like I had to before. We still don't have broadband, but I am confident it's not far away. Thanks Telstra. You saved my sanity!!

About the G whiz stories

The G whiz stories here are based on Telstra Next G™ customers’ own experiences of coverage on the Next G™ network. Like any other mobile network, Next G™ mobile telephone coverage depends in part on where you are, what particular handset you are using and whether your handset has an external antenna attached.
