So this is my work phone and the iPhone will be my weekend play phone. I do love and need good mobile email and the iPhone doesn't give me that. Will like to see the 3G Bold in action. Will have a look but as a blackjack user it will have to be good. So will it burst the Apple bubble? hope so, it good to have active players.

The iphone is popular because its an ipod, no other phone is ever going to be an "ipod" thats not to say other phones wont do things better or be more suited for other functions (Im very sure the 3G Bold is more suited to business use) so there wont be any "iphone bubble bursting" anytime soon. I love my iphone and while typing is tolerable via the touch and sometimes enjoyable.. there are times of frustration.

Will the BlackBerry Bold burst the Apple bubble? Who cares. The iPhone is way cool. Rest assured that the iPhone will get better. Apple are not sitting on their laurels you can bet on it. The OSX unix platform is an awesome operating system and you will see more and more applications being made available to make the iPhone better and better. The editing capability will no doubt be improved to allow cut and paste from one application to the next and I would expect that a version of iWorks will be out in the not too distant future to give you spreadsheet (Numbers), slides (Keynote) and word processor (Pages) capability.

For business use? It would be a good choice It's certainly more of a business phone. For those of us that don't need to work on our phone? No way.

I think most people have hit the nail on the head here... BlackBerry Bold = Business Phone iPhone = Play Phone However, I work for the big T here and I use a iPhone as my work phone... however, I don't want to be checking my work emails at every waking chance I get so thats why I didn't op for a crackberry. I'm happy enough with it syncing with my gmail account every 15 mins. Plus the big touch screen you get on an iPhone is really handy when you have to show people photos from the weekend on it :) At the end of the day, I think both phones cater for different market segments... so if you want the ultimate business phone, go get yourself a blackberry or a HTC diamond or something... if you want something that will play music really well / have a good interweb browser, plus works as a decent phone, then go for an iPhone or some Sony Ericsson phone.

The iPhone, like all phones, won't suit everyone. Neither will the blackberry BOLD. Can I see hundreds of people lining the streets for the launch of the Blackberry - No. Lack of a touch screen is a start. Small screen is another failing. The iPhone is flawed too. Me, I've opted for the iPhone. Being a MobileMe subscriber lets me have access to my own e-mail with out using works computers or time. I can watch movies on the train to work, and heaps of stuff I wouldn't want to do on a blackberry. Plus, with Exchange capabilities the iPhone could be an office phone - but why do we feel the need to have our work with us everywhere? I'm happy to leave me work e-mails on my work computer.

Telstra just doesn't understand the market, what is the point of comparing the iPhone with the Blackberry, 2 different applications. iphone consumer/SME blackberry corporate/Govt.??? The Blackberry retro small screen does not compare to the iPhone bigscreen. LOL! I can just imagine CEO's linning the street at 4am to buy a blackberry.....NOT!

Hi guys, The Iphone isn't the be all and end all of phones, in fact it doesnt really do much more (apart from the enhanced touchscreen interface) realistically, than my old P900 did. Blackberry Bold? yeah, i'd get it for work, but theres a whole big range of other touchscreen devices, with upgradable memory, that do the job of an "I-Pod" without the need for I-Tunes, which considering how average that software is, is probably better for all of us. The better mobile browsers are just as good as anything on the I-Phone, and if your using a windows mobile device, theres a hell of a lot more software for customisation. Not to mention that I always like the option of replacing my battery if it goes cactus without having to go back to the fricken manufacturer. So, my school of though is that Blackberry Bold, I-Phone, wonderful devices perhaps, but ill use a different product myself which encompasses all I could do with those devices, but with a far smaller helping of wank to go with it.

Just gotta ask Paul Hunneybell, have you actually used the devices for more than 15 seconds? And customisation? 400 apps for sale right now in the Apple Store. Upgadeable memory? 16gb still not enough? Better mobile browsers? Safari is not a mobile browser - its a full web browser. No cropping or crap. Yeah it's a pain if the battery fails. You do have a point there. But the whole point of this thread is about the Bold versuse iPhone. Not iPhone versus the Bold versus the World. iTunes, what's your beef with iTunes? Define "average" for us. My understanding was that average was fine. As in no worse or better than others. I'll admit I'm an Apple fan. Was into PC's for over a decade, made the switch. Now there is no way i would go back. My cards are on the table. So tell us Mr Paul Hunneybell, are you an Apple hater and please answer this next question: Will the Blackberry Bold burst teh iPhone buble?

If anyone can't see that the iPhone has RIM worried ... just stop for a second ... take a moment ... and look at the sudden design change from the 8310 Curve, Pearl and 8800 series ... the design of the Bold is border line iPhone ripoff (albeit with a keypad instead of a gorgeous 3.5" screen) Apple is taking it to the established Smartphone players, and they are all sitting up in their top floor offices and paying close attention to the new kid on the block with more money in the bank account than the rest combined... and a design philosophy that makes the rest look like they belong in the smithsonian ... I currently work for Telstra ... but I used to work for Apple Australia Head Office for many years ... so my loyalty lies with Telstra ... but I just dont agree with Telstra's stance on the iPhone ... it sells the iPhone, but with a healthy dose of reluctance for some odd reason ...
