When is a cloudy day a good day?
In this entry, we delve into the Managed ICT domain within Next Dimension Working.
I have asked one of my colleagues, George Patapis, to discuss how more can be done within the Next IP cloud via our Managed Hosting services.
Over to you George:
“Telstra network customers are familiar with transporting their data through Telstra networks. This data typically starts from one customer site, traverses the Telstra network cloud and ends up at another site belonging to the customer. What if this data could stay in the Telstra cloud, safe and secure with simple access from sites and users?. This is where Telstra Managed Hosting and ICT services comes into play.
"This next generation of value added Telstra Hosting services allows data to be stored, archived, backed up, processed and securely shared all within the Telstra cloud. The Telstra Hosting “cloud” is made up of national data centres, IT equipment such as servers and storage housed in those data centres and network equipment & links.
"Telstra Enterprise & Government customers who already have a Telstra supplied private network, are already able to access the Telstra Hosting data centres & services via a VPN included 30MBit/s Hosting port.

"A good example of use of the Telstra Hosting Storage & Long Term archiving services is Telstra customer, Breast Screen Victoria. Digital mammography images are captured at multiple locations by radiographers, they traverse securely the Telstra high speed wireless and fixed line networks and are securely archived and digitally stored within the Telstra data centres. These later can be accessed by Radiologists for reporting and review.
"Such use of the Telstra networks combined with the Telstra Managed Hosting services allows a more timely response to clients and facilities a new level of service not previously attainable by Breast Screen Victoria.”
Thanks George, well said within the 200 word count !!!. I have started attending customer meetings with my Hosting colleagues and have been certainly impressed with how Telstra can now position utility models, with items such as compute and storage “served up” from within the network. Customers are minimising a range of risks, as well as reducing costs, by centralising applications in, as George states, a safe and secure Telstra environment.
Let me know readers if you would like George to go into more detail next blog, I know he would love to !!
